Rural

25% of the rural population has no access to internet.

Mountainous

About 30% of the EU territory is covered by mountainous areas.

Remote

Sparsely populated territories tend to grow much less than the EU average.

Areas

Rural, Mountainous and remote areas constitute 80% of the EU territory, are home to 57% of its population and account for 46% of gross value added.
